The Universal Raisers, for connecting Main Board to Side Boards and to elevate back of notebook computer, are 3/4 inch (19 mm) high each.
Materials
The Main Board are made out of 3/8 inch (10 mm) thick solid Acrylic and the Side Boards out of 1/4 inch (6.5 mm) thick solid Acrylic. Acrylic is a plastic material with the following properties; high stiffness, excellent chemical resistance, resistant to boiling water, good impact resistance.
Since the Side Board surface is very smooth and reflective a specially designed Mouse Pad is supplied (sA | 1.5 and sA | 1.4) to facilitate optimal performance by optical computer mice.
The Hardware is made of strong, lightweight, machined Aluminum, it will not rust, corrode or deteriorate.
Cooling
By being able to raise the back of your computer with the modular raisers, better heat dissipation is achieved (sA | 1.5 and sA | 1.4).
As the hot air naturally rises it is replaced by cooler air, creating a slow natural cooling air current.
The cooling process is additionally aided by the many holes in the Main Board (sA | 1.5).
Parts
Each surfACE model comes with 1-Main Board, 2-Side Boards and Hardware.
The models have different amounts hole in the Main Board. See chart below for amount of Hardware supplied with each model, hole configurations and if model comes with a Mouse Pad or not.
Additional parts can be purchased here.
Holes
All models have the same hole size and holes in the same positions so that parts are interchangeable. Although not all the models have the same amount of holes.
